Jon Jones makes super fan's day with phone call, free tickets to see 'Karate Hottie'

The good deed award of the day goes to UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

While interacting with fans on Twitter, Jones got a request from a super fan who posted his phone number and asked the champion to call him. After some consideration, “Bones” obliged and made the fan’s day.

Not only did he call him, but Jones offered the fan free tickets to his teammate Michelle Waterson’s October fight vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC on ESPN+ 19 in Tampa, Fla.

Well, that was very nice of Jones, who took to Twitter for a brief Q&A with fans, following his response to light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, in regards to a potential trilogy.

Speaking on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, Cormier said a potential trilogy would be on his terms, but Jones refuted, saying there’s no way Cormier goes back down to 205 pounds to face those demons again.

Oh, and Jones didn’t hold back from responding to the haters, either, who flooded his timeline following his response to Cormier.

Jones is coming off a  split-decision win over Thiago Santos at UFC 239, in a fight some believe he lost. Santos was game for all five rounds, standing toe-to-toe with the champion, but ultimately ended up narrowly being edged out on the scorecards. Jones had a tactical and technical approach in a fight where he didn’t take much damage.

Jones has suggested he’ll be ready to return to the cage by November, assuming his recent legal woes don’t put a halt in a potential quick turnaround. It is unknown who he’ll take on next, but Jones says he’ll take on any light heavyweight contender, assuming Cormier won’t get the assignment.
