Dan Ige will finally get his opportunity to hit the featherweight rankings.
Ige (12-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) takes on Mirsad Bektic (13-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) in a yet-to-be-announced UFC event scheduled for Feb. 8, though the location has yet to be revealed. A person with knowledge of the booking recently informed MMA Junkie of the contest but requested anonymity since the UFC has yet to make an announcement.
After dropping his UFC debut in early 2018, Ige has since won his last four straight, most recently snapping Kevin Aguilar’s nine-fight winning streak with a unanimous decision win at June’s UFC on ESPN+ 12.
Meanwhile, Bektic suffered a first-round TKO loss to Josh Emmett in his last outing in July, putting a halt to his climb towards the top of the featherweight ranks. He will look to get back to the win column when he takes on the surging Ige.
