Former UFC welterweight Sabah Homasi returned to Bellator with a bang Saturday.
Less than 20 seconds into the opening round, the American Top Team product Homasi (13-8 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) hammered opponent Micah Terrill (14-8 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) with a brutal overhand right on the Bellator 225 prelims. If Terrill wasn’t out when he hit the ground, he certainly was after Homasi landed a series of heavy follow up punches.
Referee Keith Peterson stepped in and waived off the contest just 17 seconds into the opening round. Terrill remained on the canvas for quite some time, but eventually walked out under his own power.
After the bout, Homasi called out Austin Vanderford, who competed in the following bout. Vanderford won via second-round TKO due to doctor stoppage (cut).

The victory is Homasi’s second since the 30-year-old fighter parted ways with the UFC in early 2018. In his three-fight UFC tenure, Homasi dropped all three bouts due to strikes. Two of Homasi’s three losses with the promotion were suffered at the hands of Abdul Razak Alhassan, while the other came in his UFC debut against Tim Means.
Homasi also served as a member of Team Blackzilians on “The Ultimate Fighter 21.”
The loss is Terrill’s first since June 2016. The 35-year-old Maryland-based fighter had only lost one of his prior ten bouts entering Saturday night.
